yoursolace since she put these two in my head and now they won't shut up. Title from The Submarines' Xavia. Originally posted here.
Bella’s reflection was never welcoming, always a horror when she saw the person, no, the thing she had become. And yet she had begged for it, begged for death, begged for blood lust and eternal beauty.
Although, It was difficult to feel beautiful when blood stained your lips and hands.
“They’ll fade.”
Bella gasped, turning to see Rosalie perched like a house cat at her doorway. Bella couldn’t help but hear the spite in her voice.
Bella looked back at the mirror, her red eyes slicing her now-granite skin clean open. She’d wished for an immortal’s life but the aftermath was more than even Edward could have described.
Rosalie had moved behind her, looking at their shared reflection and smirking the way only she could.
“They’ll fade to the caramel color you so love of Edward’s before you know it.”
Bella’s hand went to her mouth, her fingers running over her lips and in complete awe of Rosalie’s form beside her. Even as a vampire, Bella could not compare to Rosalie’s exquisite beauty.
“I thought you hated me,” Bella finally managed to choke out.
Rosalie laughed; combing her fingers through her perfectly curled blond locks.
“I don’t hate you, Bella. I resent you, but I’ll never hate you. That requires liking you in the first place and I can’t say I ever really did.”
Bella watched Rosalie’s face admiring her own reflection and ignoring Bella completely save for speaking to her.
Bella looked down, her hand idly picking up a brush from the small vanity.
“Oh, Bella. You are such a child. Don’t take it personally. I rarely like anyone.”
Rosalie finished with her love affair in the mirror, her fingertips brushing over Bella’s shoulder.
“Although, I must say, if he was going to finally take a wife, at least he picked someone as plain as you. Not even a chance of growing into anything more than what could pass as his sister.”
Bella’s hand went to her throat and Rosalie laughed again.
“Eternity is going to fun, hmm?”
